Woven shade sails are the most effective sail shades for offering maximum UV protection in your garden. Beautiful, useful and festive, perfect for adding decoration whilst bringing a little comfort to those hot, hazy days outside.

Perfect For The British Weather

In warmer climates, sail shades are designed with small holes in the weave to allow hot air to escape and to keep it from getting too warm underneath the sail.

However, with the British climate generally cooler than many countries and more prone to showers, a tighter weave is ideal. You can enjoy maximum UV protection and shelter from the rain without worrying about being uncomfortably warm beneath your sail shade.

On top of that, it is not waterproof (drips come through all over the place), it 'pockets' easily, forming a puddle, which empties suddenly in any sort of breeze, and the whole thing has stretched downwards. Not a good buy, I'm having to replace it already. My last one, also Kookaburra, lasted three years.

    I love the sail, don't get me wrong obviously due to the shape you don't get a huge amount of shade at certain times of the day but it definitely adds extra shelter where required. I'll be buying a second one at some point in the future to create a larger sheltered area. The material quality is excellent and seems very durable although it did take a couple of attempts to get the tension correct.

    It's made from a fairly thick fabric that offered good shade.
    It rained a couple of times while it was up and it didn't seem to have marked or damaged it.
    I used a separate set of metal fixtures which ensured the shade didn't blow away.
    The string included is a little slippery which makes knot tying more challenging.
    It looks lovely in the garden and offers a welcome shelter for when the sun comes out.
    Bottom line - I'd buy it again.

    Very disappointed with this compared to similar sails sold on amazon. This is our third sail and not tried the kookubura brand before this one, I wont be buying anymore.
    The fabric is very thin and not the proper thick canvas type of our others.
    The seems are poorly sewn and the corners dont have the proper d ring metal fasteners or properly reinforced sewn. Its done the job to shade from the sun today but i very much doubt it will last long at all.

    I think this is great and inexpensive. Took a lot of drilling the wall and trial an error to get it in a useful position. If you are trying to shade the back of the house, fit it high. We are around 1m above where you would think to fit it and it now shades the house and patio nicely.
