Similarly, national and continental associations can use the guide to help with ideas, approaches and inspiration to support players and clubs, as well as maximising opportunities to promote events.
Individual players will benefit from using the guide as it shows how important their role in highlighting achievements and performances can contribute to the international minigolf community.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2017This is a great wee book, firstly to read and then as an aide-mémoire.
Richard demonstrates his enthusiasm and knowledge for Mini Golf which, as he points, out is a sport for all.
The strength of this book is how he has applied classical marketing techniques to Mini Golf including:
SMART ... specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound;
SWOT ... strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats;
WWWWW and H ... who, what, why, when, where and how.
Richard provides a number of helpful lists including 22 news hooks; 6 marketing aims; 6 point event plan; complete with a 6 point action plan.
Great book to keep, and great value ... best investment that I (a traditional putting green operator) have made for years.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 June 2021Very Good insight. Very useful information which you can put to practical use, would recommend as a guide for any sports club.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 May 2017Really nicely put together, informative guide to a wide range of marketing and promotional activities concerning minigolf. I'd recommend this to anyone really who plays or administers the game. There's takeaway content for both commercial and not-for-profit organisations too. Plenty to ponder from this guide...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 July 2017That really is first class.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 March 2018This is not only the best marketing guide I've read with a focus on minigolf. This is the best marketing guide I've ever read full stop.
Great credit has to go to Richard Gottfried for his clear, concise yet still erudite analysis of how minigolf should be marketed.
Despite this focus on minigolf the techniques discussed are not so bespoke they could not also be applied elsewhere.
Give it a go.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 May 2017Although Richard draws on his experience from the world of minigolf, there is plenty contained in this ebook which can easily be applied to sports clubs, organisations and individual competitors looking for ways to promote their activities – particularly those at amateur or semi-professional level.
Each chapter is written in a clear and concise way, with a refreshing lack of jargon which makes it easily accessible for those who are not marketing experts. Any technical terms are clearly explained too, although the book is in-depth enough for those already involved in marketing to find it useful.
Richard brings together lessons learnt from both his professional and sporting lives, and his passion clearly shines through as well which makes it an engaging read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 August 2017A great to-the-point read written by someone who has clearly combined his two passions, minigolf and marketing, into one book. This book will benefit anyone who either operates a minigolf course, is thinking about starting one, is involved with an association, league or club and is looking at new ways to grow memberships and generate additional incomes. Even if you think you know it all you will learn a couple of things after reading this book. Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 May 2017Richard is equally passionate about mini golf and marketing so he is in a great position to write articulately and informatively about both topics.
This is an excellent concise guide for anyone with an interest in either subject and will no doubt help many people promote their events more effectively.
I would recommend this book to all and at £1.99 is a bargain given how much you stand to gain from using Richard's advice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars
Anyone interested in starting a putting club or miniature golf course management would be well-advised to read Richard Gottfried's book. Strategic marketing is the key to attracting and retaining participants or customers. His tips are well thought out, as he and his spouse, Emily, publish the blog, The Ham and Egger Files, and they have personally played and reviewed more than 800 miniature golf courses around the world. 5.0 out of 5 stars What a great ebook, this is very useful!
Well, I can only come up with two words: Nailed it!
Exactly a spot-on description of what minigolf needs to get bigger and to promote our great sport!
28 pages of easy to read stuff, from a passionate person who knows what he is talking about, in marketing but certainly also in minigolf. But the content is not only useful for minigolf, it could very well be used for other sports too...

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice easy read!
A nice easy read about some good things to consider when doing mini-golf marketing. Richard breaks down complicated marketing strategies into easy to follow concepts that any mini-golf lover can easily follow. A good read for the price and a book anyone in the industry should pick up.
