In his earlier work ‘Islam Answers Atheism’, Asrar Rashid enters the territories of the New Atheists and those pursuing kufr humanistic sciences—particularly those bent on debunking a Divine Reality. Intent on showing the false trails laid out for the unwary, he aims to rescue those who have been misled by showing the weakness and fallacies in their arguments and that in most cases, behind their disparagement and denigration, the Hand of God is merely replaced by straw-man arguments, emotional content, and fantasy. ‘Navigating the End of Time’ sets a course for a navigation of the dangerous ways that Armageddon-watchers have invented or twisted prophecies to their own advantage. Rashid draws on examples of how both Muslim and non-Muslim millenarians have cajoled and brainwashed followers, in many cases, to their doom. The trials and tribulations of our time are indisputable, but Rashid lays bare the fitan which are essentially a result of our own miseducation or dependence on the products of the industrial revolution—the apotheosis of which is the smart phone in our hand—which completes what has been called the mass-formation (or crowd psychosis) of our ‘technic society’. These he juxtaposes with the language of the Qurʾān and the key prophecies of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and what he says about the fitan of the End Times. These eschatological matters were further collected and mapped out by a few Muḥaddithūn and Rashid gently teaches us how to map read; ‘Do not travel there until you learn to read the signs properly, and if possible find a very good guide.’

Nothing major to add to the topic of signs of the last hour

Nothing major to add to the topic of signs of the last hour
I gave this book and author a go as I thought it would add something major to this topic of the final days but asrar rashid just cannot help himself. Even in a book like this he involves sectarianism and brings in wahabi and deobandi arguments. I would of thought that by now he has gotten past these petty sectarianism by now considering his age and the challenges he has been given by scholars from these groups in recent times, but I was wrong. Not only that what makes this book even worse is that He has decided to add animate pictures in it of people and scholars which goes totally against the pure Shariah. I was actually surprised by this and thought he wouldn't go that far but has decided to especially since its being printed and is not in electronic format (difference of opinion that pictures is permissible if in electronic format but more or less everyone agrees that strictly prohibited if in tangible format and is printed).I would of wanted asrar to do proper justice to this topic of "the final hour" however found it truly lacking and would instead recommend other great works which are readily available, most notably Imam ibn kathirs "signs of the last hour", mufti Abu lubaba "dajjal, who, when, where" and many other great works out there. May Allaah save us from blind sectarianism and enable the ummah to look at the bigger forces at play here and to tackle it. Ameen.

The first half of the book will almost certainly save people from falling for any claim that misinterprets known signs of the hour or false claimants of being the Mahdi. It looks closely at cult leaders and their methods and how to protect oneself from their lies, delusion or mental illness.

This book is a must read in the current time and it's the most important work on the topic as it's written in 2022, which allows the author to look at far more false claims than previous authors could and refer to very recent events such as ISIS.

The book is very well written, in an easy to read font and eloquently. A real page turner.

The beauty of it is the signs are discussed chronologically with hadith cited as we go along so it gives a clearer picture than ever about the world we live in and how close we are to the end times.

Whilst looking at the signs, the author puts to bed misinterpretations of eschatology and calls instead for Muslims to wait for the signs to appear as mentioned in the Quran and sunnah, they being the only certainty. The rest is mere conjecture.

The book also helps to strengthen Iman: that these signs are foretold and inescapable and Muslims must concentrate on their own selves and getting closer to Allah rather than be unnecessarily perturbed by goings on.

This book has been a unparalleled learning experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking answers in these confusing times.

The author covers essential history relevant to the End of Times and helps us understand how and why the Muslim world has come to its current stage after seeing centuries of persecution, betrayal and deception, and how this was foretold by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

There are then chapters providing information on previous deceivers and false prophets, how they were influenced and how they gained influence, how they convinced people and how to avoid being deceived by one of these fakes.

He also adds much needed depth into the history of sectarianism in Islam, where many Muslims today have been confused, and how this tied in with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)'s end of time prophecies.

Finally, he covers and categorises the signs of the Last Day chronologically as per authentic sources, and puts them into today's context (without "white-washing" sources - which is a key fault found i have found in other popular publications who have released Islamic literature on the End of Times)

    A must-read for any Muslim.

Not finished yet but it's been fantastic so far. Firstly, hats off to the publishers who have published a beautiful book. The typesetting, the paper, the cover etc is 1st class.

So far the book has been a great guide on how not to be deceived on all the different people out there making all sorts of claims as well as cults praying on the minds and feelings of many Muslims. My only criticism so far is the swipe Shaykh Asrar Rashid has had at the Deobandi's. He doesn't make a good case for them supporting Mirza Ghulam, the liar, in his claim of prophethood. The Deobandi's are known for their khatme nabuwwat conferences worldwide as an attempt to refute their claims. Apart from that I really like Shaykh Asrar Rashid's approach to this subject which is grounded in the Islamic Sciences.

May Allah accept and reward Shaykh Asrar in this life and the next.

What felt like a few moments turned out to be hours. Hours that withered away when finishing the last section of this book. It was truly an engrossing end to a splendid work of Islamic literature. I almost found it impossible to put the book down as the major signs were being illustrated chronologically. With a slight regret to the detrimental effect it had on my sleep, I, nevertheless, really enjoyed this book and feel like it has broadened my perspective on many things. It is a satisfying read and does complete justice to the science of eschatology.

The author has done a brilliant job in elucidating the principles needed to safeguard oneself from gross misinterpretation.

Anyone looking for guidance in these times of confusion should look no further as this book has everything you need. It lays out a map to show you your current position and where you are headed, and likewise, it gives a compass to ensure you are not swayed by the tides of deception.
