Urban American Rider in a lane-splitting state here. It's a heavier read than most books offered in the United States. I've found it incredibly useful in understanding motorcycle physics and learning to search for hazards on the road.

Aside from being a book catered to the British, it's a revealing look at the knowledge police officers are expected to know and apply. Additionally, it's a frightening representation of how lacking driver and motorcycle training is in the United States.

If you live in the city or plan to do anything cross country, I'd recommend the read. It won't have techniques to carve corners or cut off seconds, but it'll have knowledge that may save your life.

There have been comments that have down played the significance of this text. One points to the rider’s years of experience and another to common sense being sufficient to negate this work’s training. I believe for those of us that are not Demi-gods, this is priceless.

There is an important feature hidden in the fact that the text is written for riders travelling on the left side, and that is the those reader that ride on the opposite lane need be engaged to process and translate the topics being presented.

I have yet to find a comparable text if you have please share
