Great read.

Great read.
I have never read something as touching as this book before. Tinka Tinka and its founder, Dr. Vartika Nanda have touched so many aspects of prisons and its inmates' lives. Dr. Vartika is the source behind the progress in prisons as a prison reformer and media educator. This book gives hope to the inmates to change and develop. I believe that this book should reach each and every household of the country. The fact that this book beautifully expresses the inner feelings and aspirations of the inmates is commendable. I know Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh also paved ways of Tinka Jail Radios in several parts of the country. I am keen to know more about it. #VartikaNanda #BookonJail

The book is a great answer to anyone who questions the logic behind prison reforms. It contains the stories of several prisoners from the jails of Madhya Pradesh who got a second chance at life because of said reforms. The book is a testament to the potential that such changes have in creating a positive impact on society. Very well written!

The book gives a ray of hope to the readers that convicts too, if treated humanely, can merge with the mainstream society. But it shook me to think that Dr. Vartika has spent so much time researching inside the prisons so up close - something which nobody has done till date, may be due to the sub-conscious mental barriers! Through the book, Dr. Vartika shows that positivity in dealing with inmates can surely pave way to bringing the inmates back into the mainstream society despite their trauma. Anyone coming out of the prison should not be written off by the society. I hope that this book is circulated widely to change our mindset about life behind bars.

Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh is a book that features the stories of 19 people from the prisons of Madhya Pradesh, including 12 men, two women, four children, and a warder. The book is co-authored by Dr Vartika Nanda, a prison reforms activist and a media educator, and was released by Shri Kiren Rijuji, MOS, Home, Government of India in 2018. The book is a celebration of the creative and artistic expressions of the inmates, such as poetry, painting, music, and photography. It is not just a collection of stories but also a call for a more humane and reformative approach towards prisoners.

An entirely refreshing view regarding jail life.
The intricacies and depths have been explored in an unusual way leading to a paradigm shift in our perception.

Dr Vartika Nanda has worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the inmates. It was high time this need was addressed in the Indian context which has been aptly catered to by the author. This book containing the noble works of Tinka Tinka is a must read.

I finished reading this amazing book today and I feel numb. This book has changed my perspective about prisons and has made me question the treatment given to the inmates in so many ways. The fact that the children are also kept in prisons who grow up in a gloomy environment, losing their childhood and innocence is really heartbreaking. The comparison made by Dr. Vartika Nanda in this book between jails in today's world and jails during freedom struggle was an eye opener for me. I am really inspired by this book and want to help these children and other inmates. I really appreciate Dr. Vartika Nanda for bringing up prison reforms in India and touching so many lives in a positive manner through her unique prison reforms movement- Tinka Tinka.. This is a must buy book. Interestingly, the read took me to Tinka Tinka Jail Radio Podcasts, which I later learnt are the only podcasts in India dedicated to prison reforms. I could relate to the number of stories narrated in these podcasts. I feel such endeavours must come in public light and duly acknowledged.

Clearly, the prison reformer and media educator Vartika Nanda has made all the efforts to make this book one of its kind of indian prisons. Colors in the book also added to my surprise. I never imagined prison could be treated in this creative manner.

This book gives us an insight into the lives of thousands of prisoners, the interesting story of prison reforms, and an artistic expression of jails through India’s leading prison reformer Vartika Nanda. This book presents an absolutely new face of prisons, something which was perhaps never thought of. Book is full of surprises and experimentation by Tinka Tinka, a movement that has established itself in the field of prison reforms. I would say this book is a must read for our judges and also those who study law, human rights and journalism. I also feel journalists leading a life of negativity should also buy this book and do some introspection.

You will get hooked to this book easily once you start reading it. The language and vocabulary is also easy to comprehend. Overall it is a must read and is totally worth the money and time.
