Review
A moreish page-turner of a book that will leave you feeling informed and ready for the next dinner party. ― Herald
A fascinating book . . . It was so absolutely absorbing. I really, really loved this book. -- Jane Garvey ― BBC Radio 4
Kleeman’s entertaining survey of the latest advances in life sciences . . . a little like Louis Theroux
channelling Margaret Atwood. She is an accomplished storyteller
Mesmerising ― Daily Mail
Fascinating . . . an epic exercise in concision – all four of these sprawling chapters could have run to books on their own, and at times I wish they had -- Eleanor Halls ― Daily Telegraph
Thoughtful scepticism makes Kleeman a savvy guide, and her fresh insights into, for example, disruptive technology’s gender dimension, underpin provocative takes on progress and human nature itself. Thoroughly absorbing ― Observer
A pleasingly sceptical investigation into the innovations that could change the way we eat, have sex
and die . . . compelling and thoughtful
A fascinating examination of what the future holds . . . you will never look at a chicken
nugget in quite the same way again
A tour of the lurid fringes of the tech world . . . Kleeman is an acerbic guide, whose understated common sense contrasts with the grandiosity of her interviewees. ― The Times
Thoughtful and diverting . . . Even if it doesn’t have the answers, this elegantly written and eye-
opening book poses the right questions
From the Back Cover
‘A fascinating examination of what the future holds, and of what it means to be human. Jenny Kleeman writes with wit and a wealth of knowledge that ensures you will never look at a chicken nugget in quite the same way again.’
Elizabeth Day, author of How to Fail and The Party
‘The future is a fairly scary place, but there is no better guide to it than Jenny Kleeman. By turns alarming, funny, thought-provoking and fascinating, this is a book that brilliantly shows us where much of our life (and death) is heading.’ Stig Abell
‘An unforgettable journey into the near future by a fabulously gifted writer’ Will Storr, author of Selfie

1.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming
Verified PurchaseI didn't think I was going to enjoy this book much and I enjoyed it a lot less than that. It's not particularly well written or researched and the subjects interviewed can best be described as deluded eccentrics.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and eye opening
Verified PurchaseThis book is a non fiction eye opener about the advances of our technology in regards to sex, meat, birth and death. I found myself pausing often during this book to find out more about a specific part and couldn’t believe that it was actually real. The author does a good job of giving information and of course her opinion. A very interesting read.
