Since school, Sana has been the popular girl with excellent grades, beloved by both teachers and parents, living an enviable life. Sana and Ashish have been dating since the eleventh grade, sharing the kind of teenage romance that makes it to the bestsellers list, sells out theatres and causes their loveless friends to gag. Nothing, not even long-distance, can tear the two apart.
Except, maybe, a handsome, overachieving, book-reading senior from Sana’s college?
Pranav is the typical ‘cool guy’ sought after by the entire college. He also happens to be Sana’s new friend, Aanchal’s, brother. But he’s nothing more than a friend! Sana already has the best boyfriend in the world!
Correction: had, before a drunk driver on New Year’s Eve obliterated her happiness.
Set in New Delhi, Fool Me Twice is an unconventional story that will stump readers expecting a good, old romance trope. We meet and fall in love with a young couple planning their futures together when life rudely hijacks the steering wheel. Exploring the ways a twenty-year-old navigates grief and life after a loss that shatters most fifty-year-olds, Fool Me Twice looks at the complexity of falling in love 'again' at an age where most are falling for the first time, and what it feels like to move on from mourning one great love to make room for another.

- Reviewed in India on 18 August 2024Verified PurchaseWhat an enchanting book, will wreck your heart to pieces, but by the time you finish, will heal it too. Nona is going to be a literary brilliance of our country in years to come. - Reviewed in India on 7 November 2024Verified Purchase“I know people hate the romance genre in general, for its predictability, but that’s precisely why I love it. Isn’t there enough uncertainty in life to seek it in cinema too? For me, there’s something magical about that sequence, the promise of a happily ever after, that will never not soothe the deepest of my wounds.”
A quote that truly describes this book the best!
Blurb/Plot in the third slide.
I picked this book because I like Nona’s writing/content on her IG, and I was assuming it would be something light and fluffy to read, something I needed at the moment. But damn, I was wrong about the light and fluffy part!
It starts like a cute high school/college desi romcom with some cute Bollywood references.
There’s an unexpected Usher reference too, of my favorite Usher song.
And the JAB WE MET references, OMG - yes, it’s the best romcom ever - no arguments!
I was over the moon given how much this movie means to me.
But I was most impressed by how the subject of grief was handled with such sensitivity.
The importance of friendships that act like a life jacket when you feel you are drowning deep in this sea of mourning!

Images in this review - Reviewed in India on 6 June 2024Verified PurchaseOkay, so the book was amazing and i didn't knew that the plot twist would be so hard to believe and i literally cried but ya thank god the ending wasn't sad. But in the book some sort out of chapters doesn't feel right from my opinion as ashish and sana tried to have sex and they were underage that time, & i don't support it tbh. The writing style is also really easy and understand and quality of the was also good.
- Reviewed in India on 30 May 2024Verified PurchaseSana is a studious girl and a teacher's pet. When her division gets changed to section E, she meets two amazing humans, Ashish and Bani, who eventually become her best friends.
Ashish and Sana start dating, and when they begin a long-distance relationship, Sana believes that nothing can break them apart, not even the handsome, nerdy, book-reading senior, Pranav, from her college.
I loved this one. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT. The writing style. Omg, it's sooooooo good. I usually don't read the blurb and go in blind. But somehow, I read the blurb and regretted it the next instant. Because I knew what was going to happen. But did that prepare me for it when it happened? NO. The book made me cry my eyes out. My heart was aching for them.
And I'll always ALWAYS love Ashish more than Pranav. Pranav is such a great guy, still.
And the Jab We Met references >>>>>>>>>>
No arguments, Jab We Met is the best ❤️
If you enjoy friends-to-lovers, college romance, heartbreaks, and friendship, this one is for you.
The only thing I didn't like about the book is the blurb. I didn't like how it revealed one of the major events in the book. But I'm happy; the author's writing style compensated for it.

The story was engaging and filled with moments of self-reflection that really hit home.
