 I relished this book. Ravished it. Amidst some serious books that I was reading i got a breather in this book. This book was my guilty pleasure. The story follows Mia, she is a commoner in the land of Blackmist. She is a baker and quite good at that. When her bakery shop turns to ashes, fate meddles. She gets hired in the castle of emperor of Blackmist. New possibilities and new world opens for her. Not just her love life but a lot magical is awaiting her arrival. This book was penned at the par of an international fantasy fiction and deserves all the noise. I was totally invested in it. Highly recommend for the fans of ACOTAR, Twilight saga, and vampire diaries.

I love romance!!! This book has a unique story line in which the vampires have taken over the world and this setting makes it an interesting read. It is a great book in Young Adult genre and I am looking forward to Part 2, a sample chapter of which is included in the book!

I have watched the entire vampire diaries and then the originals, so basically I'm some what of an expert myself regarding vampires. This book just expands upon the vampire lore so much and plays a neat trick to keep things fresh. There is a ton of world lore which by the end you yearn more of it. Along with all this, you will be having an entertaining story. This covers all the major tropes who like to see in a YA novel. Not stating any spoilers but this ends on a major cliffhanger and i want to read wants next so bad. Highly recommended

To be honest with you all, when I first saw the cover and read the blurb of this book, I was expecting it to be a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my assumptions were completely wrong.

Now, I enjoyed reading this story. It was a very fast-paced fantasy-action-romance mix kind of story that was easy and simple to read. There were a handful of characters and I felt like each and every one of them carried the story in their own ways, so there was no overall development pertaining to a particular character.

Coming on to the plot, I felt like the story had so much potential but somehow the fast-paced narration kind of overshadowed the possible dimensions that could have been added to it with a bit more description and world-building. Like I was expecting more interactions between Mia and Damian or Mia and Eugene. Also, I felt the ending to be a bit rushed. I wanted the story to stretch a bit longer so that I could have enjoyed it more.

All in all, I would like to appreciate the author for her efforts. If you are someone who is exploring the fantasy genre for the first time and want to pick up something light and breezy, you can go for this one.

I regret adding it to my library after reading all the customer reviews. If you have watched basic vampire series and movies, you'll know the whole book after reading a few pages, even how the ending would be. If focused on grammatical errors, I would say they didn't choose the right editor. Lots of errors. One gets confused reading POVs. It seems like the work was rushed and something a teen would write. I seriously don't know why people are hyping it in the review. Sorry.
