- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 May 2019My 1Tb external drive failed, and could not be recognised by File Explorer on either my PC or my laptop. I thought all my data had been lost, but I achieved full recovery by using this product, which I therefore heartily recommend. As usual the instructions could be better, and might not be entirely clear to someone not used to this kind of exercise, but I had no problems in hooking things up and successfully using the product. In short, crack open the case of your failed drive and take out the drive itself, remove the component board which offers the USB connection to the outer world (just one little screw on my drive, and slide it carefully off), attach the three-way magic gizmo to your USB drive on the computer, to the SATA connector on the drive, and the mains. Switch on, and if it was the component board that had failed all will be well. File Explorer will read your drive directly, and you can transfer all your 'lost' files back. Worked a treat for me.
Other reviewers have commented unfavourably on physical aspects of the supplied items in the box, but I found nothing to complain about - every part is well made and looks good. The set is comprehensive, and can be used with old IDE drives as well, so even ancient data may be recoverable!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 November 2018I dont normally write reviews. Just wanted to say, so far this seems like a good product. I've only just got this & used it once(so far) for an old IDE HDD that i had from my old pc. So far everthing seems ok, i would say if your using this for an IDE HDD 3.5. & dosnt seem to work, make sure the 4pin power connector is pluged in all the way, i did this & seemed that after plugging in the usb cable, the 4 pin cable poped out aliitle lol but easy fix :) Only reason i gave this a 4 star, is becuase honestly after using stuff like this i like to put it back in packaging to make sure its safe, & to be fair its only a small box, so its abit annoying to put everthing back after. abit nitpicky i know, but would of been nice if box was alittle bit bigger hahaha
overall tho seems fine so far, so thanks for this little gem. would recommend to friends. hope this helped
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 November 2024I had 3 hard drives with different connections holding old photos of my children from 22 years ago I desperately wanted to get the files from.
This worked perfectly.
Just make sure it is in a flat surface when hard drive is connected

The small case feels durable, but beware when connecting drives, make sure everything is level, do not let the drive or converter droop when attaching.
