Bare Books Flash Fiction Anthology Kindle Edition
Fifty-six different flash fiction stories means fifty-six different bite sized treats. All brand new original chunks of creativity from eight different independent authors, any of which could become your new favourite.
Based on sixteen different writing prompts, you could be amazed, amused, inspired, or afraid at the turn of a page. Flash Fiction is ideal for the waning attention span that still insists on the full story, ‘less is more,’ as they say. The shortest story could reveal the largest truth or the biggest emotion.
This anthology is a passion project, a natural progression from the Bare Books podcast. Dedicated to giving independent authors a free platform to talk about, and share, their writing, and raise their profile for readers old and new. The obvious next step was to take the wonderful stories we read to our listeners on the podcast, plus a sprinkling of extra stories you won’t have heard, and publish them in this anthology. We are hoping to do a little good in the world so we will donate all profits from sales of this book to charity. Our charity of choice is the Book Trust UK [Getting children reading].

About the author
Daizi Rae (1965 - present) was born in Nottingham, and currently lives in Derby. She is a 60/40 Irish/English hybrid and has visited both Belfast and Banbridge on a quest to learn more about her roots.
Daizi is the founder and co-host of Bare Books podcast which is at the end of season 6 at the time of writing (April 2023). They interview, highlight and amplify independent authors as well as write and share flash fiction stories. She has produced 2 flash fiction anthologies, with a third due for release at the end of this year. The anthologies consist of stories from Daizi, her co-host April Berry and submissions from the Bare Books podcast listeners.
She is also a contemporary digital hobby artist, particularly fond of painting both robins and seaside beach huts, but not exclusively. She uses art as a release from the stresses of everyday life, and it works like a charm.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 November 2021I listened to most of these flash fiction stories on the Bare Books podcast and had to read them myself so was pleased when they were published. There are some stories in the book that I hadn't heard on the podcast so a bit of a bonus. The stories are between 500 to 1000 words so this is a great coffee time/lunch break book as you get a whole story in a few minutes. Enjoyed how different writers wrote about the same title prompt. The profits from the sale of this book is being donated to the Book Trust UK (getting children reading) I'm all in favour of that.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 December 2022A perfect compliment to the Bare Books Podcast, which is where these stories originated. Ive really enjoyed reading this book, you would too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 February 2022Love this book full of flash fiction from indie authors. The stories are diverse; some are serious, some funny and entertaining. All worth reading and great to pick up when you only have a little time. Also it's great that the royalties are going to charity. Daizi and April do a wonderful job of supporting indie authors; it's a privilege to support them.
