About the author
Nita may be best described as a lazy bookworm who utilises her moments of feeling out of place in a social gathering by observing people around her and knitting stories around relationships, emotional needs and various perceptions that build up the drama of life. Most of her short stories and travelogues have been featured in popular magazines such as Women’s era, Alive and Airports India. “The Leap”, a science fiction is her debut novel. “Urban Chronicles I”, a graphic short stories anthology series is her second book. Two graphic novels in the series have already been published and the third one is on its way. "The casket and Besky" is her fourth publication. - Reviewed in India on 12 August 2021Verified PurchaseUrban Chronicles ll"is a short graphic novel which highlights parenthood of urban dwellers through three different short stories.
🍃The stories are tittled- Lost & Found, All that matters & Three women in a boat.
Expectations, Family Pressure, loneliness are common issue people face in their life and yet it is being ignored half of the time.
🍃It's a short book & anyone can easily finish it in one sitting. All the three stories are very much relatable and can be easily imagined. I loved how the graphics of the book is and simultaneously the stories are heart touching..

Images in this review - Reviewed in India on 10 September 2021Verified PurchaseUrban chronicles is a picture book which comprises of three very meaningful stories with a message. These stories are about-
1. An unimaginable and a heartwarming relation between a child named Adrit and a kidnapper caller Brinda.
2. Studies is important but it’s important to enjoy each and every moment of life too. A son who’s only motto in life was to fulfil his parents wishes but was he able to do so?
3. Three generations together a on a cruise, it was amazing to see how three of them cared and supported each other. Together they shared their thoughts and views.
This is such a wonderful book. It has three good moral stories in it packed with beautiful illustrations. Sometimes illustrations speak louder than words. I loved every bit of it as it reminded me of my comic book reading days.
Good work author Nita Bajoria.
- Reviewed in India on 5 September 2021Verified PurchaseA woman's narrative of women in metropolitan, their bonding, relationships and friendship; complemented with graphics.
The book bridges nostalgia and storytelling, gently highlighting emotions and their presence, all in all floating the readers abreast with metropolitan lifestyle meanwhile shaking some dogmatic ideology defining that lifestyle.
Women form the central character in all three stories, and the author has commendably given each character their due share of justice through her words.
The book's different from our daily read, but perhaps this difference is what completes this graphical collection of short stories.
- Reviewed in India on 30 December 2021Amid changing process, this book highlights the various parenting styles in today's world & their effects on children.
_
Every child, according to his/her potentials, comes across various independent thoughts of standing in life. They make mistakes-rectify, fall-get up, think & learn. This process builds & boosts their self-confidence, zeal, & will to learn. But sadly, in this century too, many parents try to superimpose their thoughts, their goals, their determinations & lifestyle on their children, thus making their children liberated yet clutched un the hands of false or unwanted thinking process. This wrongdoing should be stopped, else as a whole we are losing many young talents which could have sparkled the fame of our nation to higher levels.
Overall, a worthwhile reading experience!

Images in this review - Reviewed in India on 16 September 2021Verified PurchaseThis was a very inspired gift from the author, and it excels in its simplicity. It's broken up into three stories, perfectly sized for when you need to read something quick and pithy before going to sleep with a mind buzzing from the demands of your urban existence.
Urban Chronicles 2 is beautifully arranged and as honest and unapologetic as they come. Anyway, I picked up the comic because I was curious what her writing was like. It's cleverly written. Very earnest and heartfelt. It's fascinating.
Most graphic novels are quick, fun reads, this is unlike anything I've read before because it’s so rich with meaning. This is like a literary fiction novel tucked into a graphic novel. It made me think, it wowed me with its language, and it definitely provoked a lot of thought
Suggestion: If you have not read this book, know 'nothing' about it......(having not read 'any' reviews- no blurbs- 'nothing'- have been living under a rock like I have ), if you are willing to 'trust'..... go in blind... DON'T read anything about this book until you have finished the last page ..... I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED reading it this way.
It's Soooo worth reading!!!!!!!
