- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 January 2024A great first book from Simon. Can’t wait to read the next one.
A gripping read from start to finish.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 April 2023Loved this book, far better than I was really expecting. The story line is a thriller of a page turner and I couldn't put it down. The sailing references and location descriptions are superb and obviously very accurate and would certainly satisfy the most experienced sailor in it's detail. I am sure they are based on real like experiences of the author.
The story line follows the boat from the boat building yard in Europe across the Atlantic to the Caribbean with an armed gang intent on capturing the boat and eliminating the main characters Roz and Jeff.
There are plenty of thrills and I highly recommend this book. Not least because it fully immerses you into the joy of what it must be like to be a live a board sailor cruising the seas (if you can ignore the rogue armed gang chasing your wake!)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 July 2023A captivating tale that will appeal to fans of nautical fiction and those seeking an escape to tropical shores.
One of the book's strengths is its ability to transport readers to the Caribbean setting, immersing them in the sights, sounds, and flavours of Bequia. Simon's attention to detail and rich descriptions give the reader an insight into the island and makes it almost a character in its own right.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2023Bought the book after visiting the Grenadines and expected to enjoy it because of the locations, which were so well described the author must have visited. The added bonus were credible characters and a very individual plot line - with some unexpected twists that I was not expecting. Looking forward to reading the sequels.
