FLEXIBILITY CONTROL

Four volume knobs of stereo mixer led on the front panel to adjust each input level.

*Attention:

1. MONO: If the audio input is mono, or if you use mono cable for connecting the devices to EITHER the input or output of the mixer, the output will be mono.

2. STEREO: You will need to use stereo cables (2 rings on the tip) to connect your devices to BOTH the input and output of the mixer, if you want to get stereo output.

3. Please add a ground loop noise isolator on the line from your device to the mixer, if there is humming buzzing noise.

I finalised it after a lot of search / research online. Build quality is okay; one more POT could be given for output also. Sound output is almost clear (with a little/ignorable noise) but it slightly lowers the output bass, which even doesn’t improve with a more powerful adapter (tried 12v/2A against the provided one 12v/1A). But better substitute of this device was not available under 2k at the time so this is the best affordable I could get.

This amp may not sound as good at first, with distortion at higher volumes, however this is because of the type of power supply adapter provided, so I would suggest using a different adapter instead of the one provided. The provided power supplyy that comes along with the amp is an SMPS type of 12 volts at about 1 amp which is a bit less powerful to push higher volumes, therefore I found that it starts distorting above 50%, so instead of using the provided power supply, I switched to a 12 volt 3 amp transformer type of adaptor and now it can handle any volume without distortion all the way even if the volume is fully turned up while even maintaining the bass.

I really wanted to like this. It’s a nice build and is quiet on the inside ….but on the outside … the dials are just horrible and I mean HORRIBLE to use!
Whoever made the decision to put smooth shiny aluminum dials was going for looks and not function. DO NOT BUY if like me you are in wanting to quickly change instrument on stage and turn one up and one down quickly …these dials will screw you over! You could buy some cheap plastic dials to overcome some of the issues but that’s throwing money at the problem.

DESIGN FLAWS:
1/. The metal dials are highly polished and so have no grip to the point where when you go to turn the pots (which are quite stiff) the dial actually slides in your fingers as you twist. It takes several turns of the dial to turn up or down fully.
2/. In addition, the white swoosh marker graphic on the casing showing 0 -10 (180 degrees of rotation) is not matched to the amount that pot actually turns. It actually rotates much further through 270 degrees ie. 3/4 of the way round from ‘nothing’ to ‘max’. This amount of rotation makes it hard to figure at a glance if you are at full volume or whether just a quarter of a turn away, you are actually on zero volume (see photos - the dial on the left is on minimum, the dial on the right is on maximum).
3/. To make matters worse the top of the dial is highly reflective so confuses seeing where the top of dial white line is at as there can be several reflections .
4/.It also arrived nearly three weeks late but that’s probably Canada Post as a courier.

It’s going back as the dials make it unusable on stage for my purpose.

A Gem of a Mixer for Portable PA

I was looking for a compact mixer for my portable PA system, which only has 1 1/4" phone input. I often get guys with keyboards and guitars that want to play at the same time. I evaluated 2 units, this one and the Moukey Ultra Low Noise 4-Channel Line Mixer. I originally purchased the Moukey, as it had couple of features that appealed to me. A master volume control, plus the ability to power from a 5 volt power pack (like a cell phone back up battery). Or any cell phone charger. But it didn't live up to its low noise name. With nothing connected, all inputs zeroed, powered by a battery and the master set to 50%, there was a loud hum. I returned it and ordered this one. What a gem. Rock solid, deathly quiet with no input connections and all level controls set to max. All inputs work, seem to be equal level, and QUIET!

I have two TVs and Two guitar amps. I play my guitars while watching TV and listen through headphones. I can plug both amps and TVs into this and listen to TV while I am playing. During football season I will watch a game on one TV and if two are on, on both TVs. I can adjust the volume to hear the game I want. If only one game is on, I can watch a show on one tv while watching the game on the other and adjust the sound to hear which tv I want to hear. All the while playing my guitar. The sound quality is so good. I am hard of hearing and use the headphones so as not to disturb my wife. This thing is near perfect. The only thing that this needs is an on/off switch.

So in terms of the build quality, I think that it is pretty well built. I love the fact that it is small enough to fit a guitar pedalboard, or just sit on a desk and not take up too much room. The fact that it is black is a nice classy touch. It is made out of some sort of metal material, resulting in a rugged design that is super durable. Heck, it seems like it is a little more durable than my guitar pedals. Build quality I would give 5/5

Now I will talk about the usefulness of the pedal. Compared to other mixers, this is pretty basic. You get 4 channels, to which you can have multiple guitars, keyboards, microphones, etc. With those 4 channels, you get 4 level or “volume” knobs. These work great if all you are really wanting to do is have the raw sound of multiple instruments, unfiltered, going through the same amp or P.A. system, and just level out the volumes. If you are looking for something that allows you to have the ability the level out the EQ settings a little more, I would recommend getting an additional mixer on top of this. That being said, the level knobs work incredibly. I was able to have my cranked amp and pedal tones at a whisper, with no change in the sound itself, only the volume. In terms of usefulness, I would give a solid 4/5.

Would I recommend this product? Absolutely I will! Considering on how cheap this product is, it is very high quality. I will be using this mixer predominately at home when I want to record my guitar for my Youtube channel, but do not want to disturb my wife or my neighbors. I will definitely have to try their other products.

Great value and performer. Potentiometers are smooth and feel reasonably solid. Nice compact metal case. No real perceivable noise, though I didn't hook up an oscilloscope to be sure. Just know that you will be connecting up to five devices (4 in, 1 out), and so there is a big potential for ground loops. I was disappointed at first when after setting it all up, the noise level was far too high. But I installed a ground-loop isolator between this device and the output of one of my noisier devices (see other review), and the problem was immediately solved. My only wish would for it to be a little more portable - as a passive device (no power required) or one that can be powered my a now-common USB battery pack.
