    I have been exploring the use of the Jesus Prayer in my own devotions in recent months. This little tome, which I purchased other than from Amazon, is succinct and clear. It sets out the basis and concept for the prayer. And then goes on to explore how we might use it. While drawing attention to the relatively rigorous way many of its Orthodox users have promoted it, he graciously offers ways in which, dare I say it, ordinary Christians might apply and use it and in so doing come closer to God in their spiritual life. In so doing he retains the essential integrity of its simplicity without allowing himself to be hung up on an inflexible set of rules.
